 Hi parents! 

 A few dates to keep in mind: 




Catholic Schools Week is January 30th-February 4th

    - Monday and Thursday of that week the kids will need to bring sack lunches

    - Friday Feb 4th will be the Grandparents' Day Mass

    - 8th grade parents be on the look out for the Catholic Schools Week newspaper insert in the Creston Newspaper

    - 6th grade parents be looking on social media for your child's ad during that week. :) 


- February 9th: 6th grade has Mass with All Day Preschool 

- March 5th is the St. Malachy Auction. This year our basket idea is charcuterie board. We sent home a letter with the information. Possible items could be: utensils, cutting board, crackers, meats and cheeses, olives, dried fruits, jams/jellies, etc... Money donations are welcomed.

Parents,  The deadline for donations for the auction is this Friday! Anything is appreciated. Friday is a Spirit Day Students can bring Valentine's Day treats on the 14th if they would like. The 18th of February the 8th grade is going to Career Day at Swcc. More information to come. I will send out a permission slip sometime this week. The 19th of February we do not have school due to professional development. Classroom updates: 8th grade is just getting into their third novel, "The Hunger Games".  With this novel we are focusing on characterization. The 7th grade is reading "Night" by Elie Wiesel. They are focusing on several different aspects such as character development, analyzing dialogue, vocabulary, and much more. **Both the 7th and 8th grade are reading their novels off their Chromebooks.  Hello!   Dates to remember:  March 24th: Spirit Day March 30th: 8th Grade Parents:: Freshman Orientation April 7th: No School: PD/Good Friday  8th grade: They have finished up their unit on the Civil War and the reconstruction era. They are moving through the Progressive Era. We are going to do brief units on the Roaring 20s, WWI, WWII, and The Civil Rights Movement. In religion we have been reviewing topics. They will have a standardized religion test on Monday that the Diocese proctors.  7th grade: They are currently working on creating the Oregon Trail, Santa Fe Trail, or the Mormon Trail. We are reading about the Westward Expansion and that cause and effect of those migrating west. On Tuesday they will learn about the Gold Rush. In religion, they are learning about Epistles and the letters St. Paul wrote to those who were turning their back on God.
