Hello parents, here is what we have been up to.  Dates to remember:  Nov. 30th the 8th grade will be taking a picture for the billboard in town. They decided to wear a solid black top. Dec. 1: 8th grade goes to SWCC for Career Day.  Dec. 7: Christmas Concert   Little late on Halloween pictures, sorry. :)   The 6th grade is making Egyptian artifacts for their pyramids.  Hadley made a chariot and coffin for her mummy. Here is what we are doing in class:  8th grade:  For social studies they are wrapping up their unit on the three branches of government. They are currently working on an animation video for the judicial branch. Their next unit will be over the responsibilities as a citizen. In religion they are learning about the great church divide between the east and west. As we continue to learn about the divide, they will be working on building their churches. They had to pick a design, church of the west or the east and build accordingly. Pictures will be posted once done.  7th grade:

 The 7th grade has been utilizing technology this week. Earlier this week they used their computers to be detectives in finding out if the Boston Massacre was an accident or premeditated. They had a “detective book” that they used to write down their evidence.  Now they are using their phones to scan QR codes to learn about the Boston Tea Party, another event that lead to the Revolutionary War.

I sent out an email last week.  Here's a look at what we are doing in class:   Kennedy is using a 3D pen to make an object for her art project  The 6th grade is working on their 3D poster of the Nile River 8th grade:   The 8th grade is going over the constitution. We are breaking it down by each branch. This week they are focusing on the legislative branch. They are currently in a simulation where the class was divided into the senate and hour of representatives. They are in committees where they are creating bills to become laws. In religion they are working on an essay about the 4 Marks of the Church. On Friday they will be learning about Pentecost.  7th grade:  The 7th grade is learning about the different events that lead to the Revolutionary War. They are currently w

Dates to remember:  Oct. 7-Spirit Day Oct. 14- No School PD Day  A look at what's going on through pictures:   The 7th grade went on a scavenger hunt to learn about the 13 colonies   Because they learned about colonial times, they made corn husk dolls.  Some are a little creepy.   To start off October, the month of the rosary, all the middle school grades created  a nature rosary. They forged for the beads on the playground, in the Mary garden, and Father's yard. They only created a decade, but how cute are these?

 Hello Parents,  Dates to remember:  Sept. 23: Homecoming:: Early Out & Spirit Day  Oct. 5: Picture Retakes  Here is what we are doing in class:   The 8th grade enjoyed the day with a prayer reflection.  Iowa vs Iowa State picture ;)   The 6th grade working on their map skills with a game of coordinate battleship.  The 7th grade playing a game about sin. 8th grade:  In religion the 8th grade is learning about the hierarchy of the church through the pope, bishops, and priests. They just finished with a presentation on the 12 Apostles. In a few weeks they will begin design and constructing their churches. Now would be a good time to start saving recyclables such as cardboard, Kleenex boxes, etc...  7th grade:   The 7th grade is in the midst of presenting their ancient civilization presentations. On Tuesday they will be having a rap battle. :) In religion they finished learning about the sacrament of Baptism and will continue on to the difference between venial and mortal sin.  6th gr

Phew! We made it through the first day of school. I am POSITIVE we are going to have a super year because we have such great kids in the middle school!   Reminder: Tomorrow is Mass and kids need to dress in Mass attire. Friday the 26th is a Spirit Day  Friday the 2nd of Sept, is a 3 hour dismissal
