  Merry Christmas families!!  I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year! I pray that 2021 brings us a healthier, saner year!   Our class sweatshirts came in and they are fabulous!!  Ugly sweater day!  Christmas Carols-Covid style. Lucky that we could carry on the tradition. :)

 Tomorrow is a spirit day! (the 18th)  Tuesday the 22nd students can wear an ugly sweater. They also need to bring a sack lunch!  Wednesday NO SCHOOL- CHRISTMAS BREAK   The 8th grade is learning about the legislative branch. So they played a board game about the process of a bill becoming a law. The Skittles were the game pieces. ;)   The 8th grade is finally done with their churches! They turned out great! :)   The 6th grade is learning about affects of pollution on our environment. Pictured, they are doing an experiment with vinegar and a Tums. The vinegar acted as acid rain and the Tums was a "statue".

 Hey Parents! Dates to remember:  December 15- Christmas Concert- at school. Kids should dress in Christmas best. December 16- Geography Bee finalists round December 18- Spirit Day December 22nd-Sack lunch! And ugly sweater day December 23rd-NO SCHOOL start of Christmas Break! What we are doing in the classroom in pictures!   The 8th grade is hard at work on their churches! They are due Monday, and I can't wait to see the finished product!!    The 6th grade was the first class to utilize the new school 3D printer! They designed passport stamps. The kids then used the stamps to stamp classmate's passports for their culture project.  Getting ready to "go around the world" aka present their country culture project.   I got a picture of each kid presenting! The rest of the class was to take notes in their "passports".   Here, Jace is stamping the kids' passports.   In religion, the 6th grade learned about the 10 Commandments and the Ark of the Covenant.  Happy Friday!  Here is what is happening:  The 8th grade is gearing up to build their churches. They are studying the architecture of Catholic churches dating back to 150 AD. They will be designing a church based around what they have learned about churches from the west (Rome) and churches in the east (Constantinople). The inside of the church will reflect what can be found in churches today. This will be a pretty big project, but I think it's important for them to understand the workings of our church.  In social studies they are learning about the constitution. They are also doing a project in this subject to. They are making a constitution book where they are highlighting, summarizing, and illustrating the main ideas of the preamble, the articles, and the amendments.  The 7th grade is just starting a new unit on the 13 colonies. This subject is so much fun to teach because there are so many fun resources! They just wrapped up the colonizing of America and the discovery of the

 Also, here are some pictures of what we are doing in the classroom/as a middle school. :)   The 6th grade did a murder mystery for Halloween.   There is Melanie... the murder ;)  The 8th grade as frat boys.  The 6th grade aliens and scientists   Pumpkin painting!  Election Day voting! The whole school voted in the presidential election. The 8th graders were the election workers.
