October 9-Spirit Day
October 16- Spirit Day
October 23-No School

The 8th grade Halloween costume is frat boys.

Here is what's happening in the classroom:
8th:
In social studies they are learning about the steps our country took into becoming independent from England. We just went over taxation, so they made protest signs protesting the taxes enforced onto the colonists. They are supposed to look like an angry mob... this is all I got. :)
Religion- October is the month of the rosary. So we are going to learn about the history of the rosary, how to meditate on the mysteries of the rosary while reciting the prayers of the rosary.

The 7th grade:
The 7th grade just wrapped up presentations over Native American groups. (I have to go through each slide for grading. I am hoping to finish grading them by the end of the weekend.) They did really well working as a group and presenting!
Religion: They just started a new chapter on the Kingdom of Heaven. However, we are going to take a small break to focus on an introduction of the rosary.
The 6th grade:
Geography: They just wrapped up how climate affects vegetation. I introduced sketchnotes to them. With these the students doodle while taking notes over a reading. This is a pretty artistic group that enjoys hands-on, so it has been fun doing different things with them. They are always positive about their assigned work!
Religion: The students are learning about people within the Bible that are pious and full of loyalty to God. They are transforming one Bible verse into a video using PowToons. The video is supposed to show their Biblical character being completely faithful to the Lord. They are really enjoying using PowToons, so I am excited to see what they produce!
Below are pictures of them working on their toons.
