Catholic Schools Week is upon us.
The 8th grade's insert went out last week, so let me know if your child didn't give you a copy to read.

The 6th grade ads are in full swing so be sure to tune into KSIB throughout the week to listen to them!

Wednesday, the 8th grade serves the Chamber of Commerce breakfast. They should be in Mass attire when they come to school then they can change into super hero/America day after.

Thursday we will be heading to Des Moines for roller skating. That day is blue and gold day. Kids should have a sack lunch, pop is okay.

Friday is grandparents Mass. Please have your child dressed in Mass attire for this day.

I will post pictures next week of our CSW fun. I didn't get a picture of pj day due to kids coming and going throughout the day.

Reminder that February 8th is Donuts with Dad at 7:30-8:00.

We are taking donations or monetary donations for the auction basket, "A Day in the City". You can give your donations to anyone of us middle school teachers.

The 8th grade is almost finished with their first novel unit, "Animal Farm". It has been fun watching them make allegorical connections between the book characters and historical figures. They will be reading "Lord of the Flies" next, which is always a good read.

The 7th grade is currently learning about tall tales. They are almost done with this unit before starting on their novel unit. They will start reading "Night" in the next couple of weeks.

The 6th grade is just getting started in their myths and legends unit. They have learned about classical myths and legends. This will be their last unit as well before starting their novels.
