REMINDER

8th Grade parents, just a reminder that the yearbook  money is due tomorrow!

Also, please have your child hand in their field trip permission slips by the 10th of May. Our trip is on Thursday the 12th.

I will be sending permission slips home today for your child to go to the High School on the 10th of May for a tour of the school.


8th Grade is in their final chapters of To Kill a Mockingbird. We will watch the movie once we are finished then head on to our last and final project, a research paper.


7th Grade is finishing their novel today/tomorrow. Tomorrow we will play a round of comprehension wiffle ball and watch the movie on Monday. They will also have a research paper, but we will work on it in class the week before school is to end.

The 6th grade is in the beginning chapters of A Wrinkle in Time. I think it's a little slow for them to start but hopefully they get more into it as the time goes on.

 Hello!   Dates to remember:  March 24th: Spirit Day March 30th: 8th Grade Parents:: Freshman Orientation April 7th: No School: PD/Good Friday  8th grade: They have finished up their unit on the Civil War and the reconstruction era. They are moving through the Progressive Era. We are going to do brief units on the Roaring 20s, WWI, WWII, and The Civil Rights Movement. In religion we have been reviewing topics. They will have a standardized religion test on Monday that the Diocese proctors.  7th grade: They are currently working on creating the Oregon Trail, Santa Fe Trail, or the Mormon Trail. We are reading about the Westward Expansion and that cause and effect of those migrating west. On Tuesday they will learn about the Gold Rush. In religion, they are learning about Epistles and the letters St. Paul wrote to those who were turning their back on God.  Hi parents! Important Dates: Dec. 17: Spirit Day Dec. 21: Ugly Sweater Day Dec. 22: Kids needs to bring a sack lunch! Mass with the Bishop. Kids are encouraged to wear Christmas colors if possible. Christmas caroling starts at 12:30.  Dec. 23- NO SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BREAK!!! **The 6th grade and 8th grade are participating in secret Santa within their classroom. This gift should not be expensive. Just a little something. Also, many students give their advent angels a little gift. This is not mandatory. If your child would like to give a little something, that is fine! It doesn't have to be super expensive.  Here is what is happening:  8th grade: The 8th grade wrapped up their unit on the Civil War and Reconstruction Era. They are moving through the Progressive Movement. We will be spending a day or two on the Women's Suffrage Movement before moving on to World War I.  In religion they complete a "pilgrimage" of the stations of the cross.
