Class Meeting

8th grade parents,
For our class meeting yesterday we did a little arts and crafts in the form of bracelet making. When I was younger, I would make friendship bracelets for my friends. These are a symbol of a lasting friendship. I thought it would be fun for the 8th grade to make "classmate bracelets" as a symbol of a lasting bond these kids seem to share. I want them to realize that they are a special class that should stick together and create a lasting relationship.
The girls picked a color, the boys picked a color, and I picked a color. We knotted the three colors together to make our bracelets. We are now sporting them on our ankles as a symbol of our class. Our goal is to have them on the whole year. The girls who are in dance competition thought ahead and made theirs a little bigger to slide off and on.
I think they turned out pretty cool, and it seemed like the 8th grade enjoyed making them!

 Hello!   Dates to remember:  March 24th: Spirit Day March 30th: 8th Grade Parents:: Freshman Orientation April 7th: No School: PD/Good Friday  8th grade: They have finished up their unit on the Civil War and the reconstruction era. They are moving through the Progressive Era. We are going to do brief units on the Roaring 20s, WWI, WWII, and The Civil Rights Movement. In religion we have been reviewing topics. They will have a standardized religion test on Monday that the Diocese proctors.  7th grade: They are currently working on creating the Oregon Trail, Santa Fe Trail, or the Mormon Trail. We are reading about the Westward Expansion and that cause and effect of those migrating west. On Tuesday they will learn about the Gold Rush. In religion, they are learning about Epistles and the letters St. Paul wrote to those who were turning their back on God. They even wrote their own Epistles which are pretty good! 6th grade: They have their Ancient Rome test today and then will move on to

 Hi parents! Important Dates: Dec. 17: Spirit Day Dec. 21: Ugly Sweater Day Dec. 22: Kids needs to bring a sack lunch! Mass with the Bishop. Kids are encouraged to wear Christmas colors if possible. Christmas caroling starts at 12:30.  Dec. 23- NO SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BREAK!!! **The 6th grade and 8th grade are participating in secret Santa within their classroom. This gift should not be expensive. Just a little something. Also, many students give their advent angels a little gift. This is not mandatory. If your child would like to give a little something, that is fine! It doesn't have to be super expensive.  Here is what is happening:  8th grade: The 8th grade wrapped up their unit on the Civil War and Reconstruction Era. They are moving through the Progressive Movement. We will be spending a day or two on the Women's Suffrage Movement before moving on to World War I.  In religion they complete a "pilgrimage" of the stations of the cross.
