Updates

Oh boy, so sorry I haven't posted in awhile. We have been very busy in the middle school wing. Here are some pictures to update you!

The 6th grade is well into their Among the Hidden book. They just discovered Luke isn't the only "shadow child", third child. The kids are really getting into it. I see a lot of participation, which is so great! Last week we had a Friday Funday where we played games, educational of course. We played vocabulary pictionary, they did skits acting out different point of views, hide and see with antonyms and synonyms, and quizzes for analogies-all dealing with the book.

Colby and Morgan finding hidden objects-get it "hidden"-ha!

8th Grade is in part 2 of To Kill a Mockingbird. They say it is a little difficult to read, but so far they seem to like it. We really discuss in this class because I want to ensure everyone understands! Here are two activities they had to do. Maura drew a picture of Boo Radley and wrote his characteristic traits and physical traits as described in the book. Tessa made a "magazine" cover summarizing a chapter as the highlights of the magazine. Very creative!

7th Grade is half way done with The Westing Game. As an assignment they had to make a game summarizing a handful of chapters. Payton had a game on comprehension questions. It was fun and creative!

Each class is plotting the diagram. Here is what we have so far. As of now, we haven't reached the climax on the books but soon will!

7th grade played Bananagrams with vocabulary words. Can you see how Sydney, Ayden, and Danika were sucking up just  a little? They got very creative in using my name with some great adjectives. Loved it!
The lovelies! : ) They all wore skirts on mass so I took a picture. The year is coming to end soon. I will post about the 8th grade field trip soon as well as graduation! We have a lot coming our way!
