 Hi parents! Important Dates: Dec. 17: Spirit Day Dec. 21: Ugly Sweater Day Dec. 22: Kids needs to bring a sack lunch! Mass with the Bishop. Kids are encouraged to wear Christmas colors if possible. Christmas caroling starts at 12:30.  Dec. 23- NO SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BREAK!!! **The 6th grade and 8th grade are participating in secret Santa within their classroom. This gift should not be expensive. Just a little something. Also, many students give their advent angels a little gift. This is not mandatory. If your child would like to give a little something, that is fine! It doesn't have to be super expensive.  Here is what is happening:  8th grade: The 8th grade wrapped up their unit on the Civil War and Reconstruction Era. They are moving through the Progressive Movement. We will be spending a day or two on the Women's Suffrage Movement before moving on to World War I.  In religion they complete a "pilgrimage" of the stations of the cross. Hi All:  Nov. 19th: Spirit Day No School the 24th, 25th, and 26th and 29th for Thanksgiving Break.  Dec. 1: 8th grade Mass I am sorry I am late with Halloween pictures. I thought I posted them, but I thought wrong.   The 8th grade designed their churches, and they look great!  Pumpkin painting  LOVED this year's costumes.

 Here are a couple of pictures from homecoming.   But first the 7th grade made pilgrim hats and bonnets. They just read about the Pilgrims sailing on the Mayflower.   The 8th grade :)   And Friday study hall crew. It was a little sunny, so we have some squinters.

 Hi parents!!   I want to thank everyone for allowing their kids to go on the field trip yesterday. It was an awesome day and a great experience. I want to especially thank everyone who donated and chaperoned!!  Here are a few pictures of yesterday. (I only had 5 kids in my group, so that's why you see the same ones)                                                                                 But first: The 7th grade presenting their ancient civilization projects. They had to present a slide presentation, Facebook poster, and finally sing a song.   Melanie and Blake rapping about their civilization. They changed the words to an Eminem song.  Here's what's happening:   The 8th grade sorting symbols and words into the Sacraments of Initiation  The 8th grade putting up the Mary Garden fence! It was a little trick, but it looks great and they worked so hard.   The 8th grade showing their Iowa/Iowa State pride...with Father. :)   The 6th grade working on their map skills with stations.  The 7th grade is currently working on a bigger project of the ancient civilizations. Dates to remember:  Sept. 16: PTO Meeting Sept. 18: St. Malachy Block Party!!  Sept. 24: No School due to PD Sept 29th: 8th grade Mass Oct 6: Field trip to KC for the Auschwitz Museum--more info. to come!
