Middle School Parents!

It is that time of year again….time to think about the annual

St. Malachy Gala and Auction in February!


Once again, the class baskets are going to be assembled by grade bands. We will have one basket for the St. Malachy Middle School.


Our theme is:

“Quarantine”


Possible items: anything fitting or kept your family busy during quarantine. I.e. masks, hand sanitizer, puzzles, games, different hobbies like quilting or gardening. Did you take up a new hobby? Did you reorganize your pantry or closets. Anything to keep you and your family entertained!


We are encouraged to include actual items in our baskets instead of gift cards whenever possible. We have to have time to assemble the basket, so please contribute by February 13 if you would like to!


Please remember that we will shop for you if you would rather send cash.  All donations are greatly appreciated! Please contact any one of us if you have  questions!

 Hi parents! Important Dates: Dec. 17: Spirit Day Dec. 21: Ugly Sweater Day Dec. 22: Kids needs to bring a sack lunch! Mass with the Bishop. Kids are encouraged to wear Christmas colors if possible. Christmas caroling starts at 12:30.  Dec. 23- NO SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BREAK!!! **The 6th grade and 8th grade are participating in secret Santa within their classroom. This gift should not be expensive. Just a little something. Also, many students give their advent angels a little gift. This is not mandatory. If your child would like to give a little something, that is fine! It doesn't have to be super expensive.  Here is what is happening:  8th grade: The 8th grade wrapped up their unit on the Civil War and Reconstruction Era. They are moving through the Progressive Movement. We will be spending a day or two on the Women's Suffrage Movement before moving on to World War I.  In religion they complete a "pilgrimage" of the stations of the cross.  Hello!   Dates to remember:  March 24th: Spirit Day March 30th: 8th Grade Parents:: Freshman Orientation April 7th: No School: PD/Good Friday  8th grade: They have finished up their unit on the Civil War and the reconstruction era. They are moving through the Progressive Era. We are going to do brief units on the Roaring 20s, WWI, WWII, and The Civil Rights Movement. In religion we have been reviewing topics. They will have a standardized religion test on Monday that the Diocese proctors.  7th grade: They are currently working on creating the Oregon Trail, Santa Fe Trail, or the Mormon Trail. We are reading about the Westward Expansion and that cause and effect of those migrating west. On Tuesday they will learn about the Gold Rush. In religion, they are learning about Epistles and the letters St. Paul wrote to those who were turning their back on God. They even wrote their own Epistles which are pretty good! 6th grade: They have their Ancient Rome test today and then will move on to
