A few reminders... 
8th grade class shirts are $15. 
The 8th grade is in charge of collecting toilet paper for the food pantry. This item can be brought to office where there is a bag your child can put the item in. 
This Friday is a Spirit Day and it is also an optional sack lunch. 
The auction basket is "home for the holidays". All Christmas items can be donated or we will accept monetary donations. The week after Christmas would be the PERFECT time to buy items since they will be on sale!

All of the middle school kids did so great at the concert. I hope the band the teachers played in didn't steal the show. ;) 









Last Thursday we participated in Code Day. In my room the students were coding games, songs, outfits, and dancing yetis. In Mrs. Cline's room we had the AEA bring a bunch of techy toys for the kids to try out like robots! Mr. Scar's room held the STEM activity. This year they had to make Christmas trees with toothpicks and gumdrops. 



Advent Angels are in full swing. Last week the kids made Jesus Stockings. My room had a bunch of great kiddos!




Academic wise all my middle school students are in full swing in the poetry unit. Next week we will do some Christmas activities before we head out for break.

 Hello!   Dates to remember:  March 24th: Spirit Day March 30th: 8th Grade Parents:: Freshman Orientation April 7th: No School: PD/Good Friday  8th grade: They have finished up their unit on the Civil War and the reconstruction era. They are moving through the Progressive Era. We are going to do brief units on the Roaring 20s, WWI, WWII, and The Civil Rights Movement. In religion we have been reviewing topics. They will have a standardized religion test on Monday that the Diocese proctors.  7th grade: They are currently working on creating the Oregon Trail, Santa Fe Trail, or the Mormon Trail. We are reading about the Westward Expansion and that cause and effect of those migrating west. On Tuesday they will learn about the Gold Rush. In religion, they are learning about Epistles and the letters St. Paul wrote to those who were turning their back on God. They even wrote their own Epistles which are pretty good! 6th grade: They have their Ancient Rome test today and then will move on to

 Hi parents! Important Dates: Dec. 17: Spirit Day Dec. 21: Ugly Sweater Day Dec. 22: Kids needs to bring a sack lunch! Mass with the Bishop. Kids are encouraged to wear Christmas colors if possible. Christmas caroling starts at 12:30.  Dec. 23- NO SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BREAK!!! **The 6th grade and 8th grade are participating in secret Santa within their classroom. This gift should not be expensive. Just a little something. Also, many students give their advent angels a little gift. This is not mandatory. If your child would like to give a little something, that is fine! It doesn't have to be super expensive.  Here is what is happening:  8th grade: The 8th grade wrapped up their unit on the Civil War and Reconstruction Era. They are moving through the Progressive Movement. We will be spending a day or two on the Women's Suffrage Movement before moving on to World War I.  In religion they complete a "pilgrimage" of the stations of the cross.
