  Congratulations to Denton on winning first place in the geography bee. All the students did great!  Merry Christmas!!!  Thank you for all the donations for our Christmas masa! It was a success!

 The 6th grade’s finished Haiku tunnels!

 The 7th grade is making traditional Japanese scrolls for their Haiku project. They are using watercolors to paint the landscape they wrote their poem over.

 The 6th grade is  making Haiku tunnels for their poetry unit. More pictures to come of their final project! I am quite impressed on what they are writing for their Haikus!   8th grade at the Christmas concert!

    We had a few 8th grade students make it to the final round of the Geography Bee. They are: Jagger, Max, Denton,Olivia, and Kolbey! If you would like to watch your child participate in the finals, they will be December 18th directly following Mass. Tomorrow, Wednesday the 3rd, is a noisy change collection for our Adopt-a-Family. We are also collecting donations for the Food Pantry. The middle school is in the middle of decorating classrooms doors. The students will vote on their favorites next week. The proceeds go to a charity of the Civics Club's choosing. Don't forget the Christmas concert is tomorrow! We will not have school December 20 until January 1st due to Christmas Break. We will resume classes January 2nd. (Crazy to think it's that time of year already!!) I will be hosting a Christmas Masa (Masa= table in Romanian) the week we get out for Christmas break.       Parents, please be sure your student is wearing a coat to school. There are a lot of students wearing sweatshirts. Just a reminder that students wait outside before school and have recess outside unless the windchill is below 0. Anything above zero the students are outside! Dates to keep in mind: Spirit Day: November 15th Spirit Day: November 22nd Spirit Day: November 26th and this day is also the Geography Bee No School: November 27-29 for Thanksgiving break! (Hard to believe, I know!!) I am a tad late but here are a few photos of Halloween fun! I loved our Area 51 idea. The kids really did a good job with their costumes. The 8th grade read "Lamb to the Slaughter" for their Halloween short story. I was able to create a pre-reading murder mystery activity for them that involved clues, QR codes, and different stations that involved literary standards such as grammar. Parents:  You are welcome to attend the Halloween parade at 2:30 on Thursday. The 8th grade's Halloween costume idea is Area 51. :)  Also note that 8th grade Mass is on FRIDAY not Wednesday this week due to All Saints Day. See you then!
